a souvenir piece to encourage residents of the market building apartments to find out about the history of the area.

the market buildings is a recently generated apartment block located in manchester's northern Quarter. although nowadays better known for its bars and clubs, just 40 years ago the area was consumed by a bustling market place. relics of this former life can still be found on every street and alley way. what once was aims to highlight these architectural vestiges and subsequently encourage residents to seek out more information.
